301 Design Studio is a continuation of an encounter that began in the 301 design studio at Özyeğin University's Department of Architecture. This encounter deepened with a term project developed in the 401 studio; the same project was selected for the MİMED Architecture Students Project Competition, thus transcending the academic context.

301 DESIGN STUDIO

The studio was established following this collaborative production experience, with the aim of continuing the practice of thinking and producing together. 301 prioritizes a collective design mindset over individual approaches; it considers design not through singular results, but through established systems and processes.

Initially developing their products using digital fabrication techniques, the studio has gradually shifted its approach towards integrating this with traditional manufacturing methods. CNC, 3D printing, and parametric manufacturing tools are considered alongside hand craftsmanship, material resistance, and construction practices. Production is viewed not merely as an application phase, but as an active component of design thinking.

301's design philosophy focuses more on conceptual continuity than on form production. Objects, spaces, and systems are treated not as direct responses to function, but as suspended potentials. Geometry is used not as a means of aesthetic expression, but as a language that establishes relationships, defines distances, and ensures readability.

The studio does not view architecture as a closed discipline. Design is considered a permeable space established between architecture, product, digital production, text, and visual representation. For 301 Design Studio, design is not a finished result; it is a constantly re-creationed practice of thinking.

301 PLUS COLLECTION

PLUS explores the continuity of an idea rather than simply producing form. Design is not considered the sum of individual gestures, but rather a coherent geometric system defined through flows, legible through lines and circles.

Each piece is shaped by the traces left by invisible flows in space. Lines make the continuity and direction of this flow visible; they are multiplied not to define the surface, but to measure the space, establish rhythm, and reveal relationships. The square and the circle are not conceived as independent forms; they appear as traces resulting from the intersection, bending, and encirclement of flows.

Objects possess a sculptural density, but this density does not stem from a formal assertion; it arises from the system's pause in matter. Function is not destroyed, but suspended. Thus, the object becomes less a finished product and more a readable schema. PLUS seeks timelessness not in aesthetics, but in thought. It uses geometry not as a means of expression, but as a language for consciously establishing a distance from the world. In this context, objects are treated not as singular and independent entities, but as interconnected parts of a larger structural whole.
